Naperville Dentures & Partial Dentures

Restorative and cosmetic treatments at Pearly Dental.

Dentures are a way to replace your missing teeth . They can be removed and put back into your mouth as you please. There are two main types of dentures, full dentures and partial dentures. Full dentures are used when all of the natural teeth have been removed from the mouth due to gum disease, infection, and/or dental decay.

Partial dentures are another option for when not all of your teeth need to be removed. This is similar to a bridge, but it is not a permanent fixture in your mouth.

Dentures may take some time to get used to. The base of the dentures is placed over your gums. It is normal to feel like the denture is bulky at first. The denture might also feel loose. It may also take some time to talk with the denture and eat with it as well. We will help give you some tips to ease the transition as best as possible. Over time, your mouth will become trained to eat and speak with your dentures. Although dentures may never feel perfectly comfortable, they are better than alternative of not having teeth.

If the dentures are too loose over time, there are options to help keep them more secure in your mouth. One option is to get dental implants, and then have the denture made to snap on the implants. Please ask us for details if you have questions!
